The Lincoln Memorial. Last year, before the majestic Yule marble monument, I surrendered all the things that I’ve learned in American History. Lincoln wasn’t just about the civil war, emancipation proclamation, and infamous assassinations.
A year ago, I eagerly surveyed my own personal space inside Hotel 71. After pacing around the carpeted floor with my bare feet and letting my skin breathe the cold air-conditioned atmosphere, my two eyes had a quick chance to register the sight of blinding lights, endless roads, and beautiful skyscrapers.
For a moment, the concrete scenery could be only be described in a fantastic and breathtaking way.
Sunrise, sunset. Either way, our ordinary yet magnificent ball of fire always looks extra special during the summer season especially when you are admiring it from a humble place called Carbondale. The sun carefully turns out its own light at 9 o’clock in the evening. Such gesture from nature made me feel that the summer season itself did not want to end too quickly because it knew too well that we were enjoying the sunlight.
